Merry Christmas

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

This photo is over 30 years old.  I found it while going through my grandmother’s pictures.  It was taken when our family lived in north eastern Illinois. Our neighbor friend Chris is on the left, I’m in the middle and my sister is on the right.

Here In Bath

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

I haven’t written in so long.  I did refer to my blog in our Christmas letter, so I figure I should update.  I thought it would be interesting to link you to our town web cam.  Our downtown is a fun place to shop.  Talk about old fashioned homey Christmasy!

It is a bummer, though.  Those who have been getting our Christmas letter for years now know that we made it a tradition to walk a living nativity of sorts in the annual Christmas Parade.  Even when it turned into a Holiday Parade.  Even when it turned into an evening twinkle parade.  Well, this year that all came to an end when it became the afternoon Jingle Bell Walk.  It was Bath’s effort to go green for Christmas.  Bah Humbug, I say.  Blah, Blah, Blah.  So, there was no forum for our pageant.

Regardless, I have done some shopping downtown this year.  Nice antique shops with reasonable prices.  A framing shop where I had some mattes cut for some photos we wanted to frame.  There is always Reny’s, the Maine-only chain store!

Ok, this wasn’t supposed to be an infomercial!

Just saying hello from snowy Maine where the Nor’easter has skewered many plans for the day…like church, the kid’s trip to the nursing home, the homeschool kids Christmas party, Anna’s debut piano solo in the evening service, and our short trip up to Stratton to visit Gram and Anne overnight.

Instead, today we will shovel snow, watch movies, eat, play games, and um, talk to each other!!  What a day!!

Oh, and that link to the Bath web cam.

Back in Town

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

Ok, I’m back but busy and anything.  I’ve been back for about a week now.  I’ll go back for a visit on Monday and Tuesday.  I want to try to be more intentional about visiting my relatives.  We’ll see if I can stay committed!

The season sure is taking on a pace of it’s own.  My cards aren’t ready to send of course.  I hope tomorrow to go get a tree.  Anna might do some baking.  She has put out some decorations.

When will I learn to put people before projects?
