Seems Fran’s Thanksgiving away from “home,” away from home wasn’t all that different than any of ours…except maybe the shrimp!!  Oh, and it wasn’t a 2-star General dishing out our stuffing.  It was a Navy Commander’s wife who baked our stuffing…..does that count?

The tableware may leave a bit to be desired for such a feast , but after all, it’s the food that counts. Right? Looks almost good enough to eat. =^)

Hey, that doesn’t look too bad at all . . . did it taste good? (Sometimes looks can be deceiving. ;-))

And yes, having a Navy Commander’s wife actually bake the stuffing counts . . . at least for something. :-)
We went to Ohio to celebrate with Rein’s mom’s extended family. The food is always good, and it’s our annual time to see that whole side of the family, so that’s always good, too.

Fran is so lucky to have such a meal! Tyler did not have a Thanksgiving meal. He doesn’t remember the last time he ate turkey. He probably will not have Christmas either.

Tyler has had only two good meals. One was in Fallujah at the main base when they went up there for machine gun school and the other one was at TQ for breakfast & had an omelet with everything on it.

This year I was disappointed because we did not have turkey either. My mom had a ham. I won’t go into the details, but it was not the best holiday our family has attended. Being without Tyler is very hard!
