Fran sent me this photo today. I asked him who the guy is and this is what he said:

“I don’t know his name. He is a hired herdsman and he did not speak English. He did know enough to accept my lunch MRE for three of us to take pics with one of his camels. He was there to make sure the camel stayed put. I did not think camels were that skiddish. “

Very nice picture. That camel looks pretty nice . . . for a camel. I mean, it’s almost pretty, being nearly all white-ish and stuff. So, has Fran ridden any yet? Didn’t know if that was some boyish dream he’s had, and while he’s there he might as well accomplish it. :-P

I like! It would be fun to go to a different country to see the different animals, plants, architecture and etc. in that particular country.

My friend sent me this awesome photo of camels in the desert. I will send it to you.

Hey, I noticed when I was going through your photos that Fran has a mattresss. How lucky is he! Tyler is still sleeping most of the time on plywood.

    Fran,
I was trying to picture you bringing the camel back with you teaching outdoor living skills to the children at Camp.
I am talking about the cookout you have on the last day. What big burgers that would make. hee hee
Fran, we think of you and pray for you on a regular basis. Thank you for serving our country as one of our heroes.

    Fran,
Ugly horse, man! Kind of an inverted swayback, it seems. Hope all is well with you. Your boys seem to be behaving - we’re keeping an eye on them. Funny day here today, Oct 20, drizzling rain and 59 degrees. I was hoping for snow! Jared’s getting ready to fire up the snow making guns at Saddleback in a couple of weeks. Maybe we can send a plane load over to you and your friends, and drop it from 2,000 feet to simulate a snow storm?
Stay well, be happy, and praise God!
    Don

Roger - I was actually thinking of running outdoor living skills like “Boot Camp” wadda ya think!

Ron - Snow would melt before it hit the ground! Did you know, we are told that it floods in the winter here! I will try to post some past flood pics.
