An Ordinary Day
I really don’t know what to write. I started this effort brimming with topics of all kinds to share. There are so many stories and circumstances that beg me to write, but it isn’t happening. It must be that there are times when life takes over and you live more than you write about what you are living. I am guessing that when the time is right, the words will come out through the keys, and the thoughts learned and felt over the preceding days or weeks will avail themselves to all who read here.
So, forgetting the thought of writing about philosophical concepts…maybe I should just hit on some practical, real facts.
Fran has been gone for one month now. The Army National Guard has him living in barracks in southern Mississippi. The buildings are worse for the wear after Katrina came through the south last summer. So, mold and yuck are an influence on his health. It’s strange, but we both look forward to when he gets out of there and into dryer weather. But Iraq? Oh well, that’s the way it is. He is coming home for 9 days starting on June 30th. That was an unexpected plan!
The rest of us are going on a trip this week. We leave at 6:45 am for a 10 day trip to Georgia. Picture 11 people in a 12 passenger van toeing a trailer filled with gear and wrapped in bungie cords and a big blue tarp! Then, look at the van and picture two hard top luggage carriers clipped to the top. From there picture 9 teenage passengers, and two adults taking turns driving this contraption down the road about 2400 miles to Winder, Georgia!! It’s TeenPact National Convention Week! Whoa, am I ready? My chiropractor has told me to get a lumbar pillow and be sure to use cruise control!! To learn more about this event, go to my link to TeenPact and click on National Convention on the left-hand list.
Erik will work Thursday and Friday, (no doubt grinning to himself as he thinks of how he isn’t with us barreling down some toll road on the Atlantic Coast,) but will fly into Atlanta Saturday morning. We may beat him there, but we will be beat!!
Anna will stay with friends back here in Maine. Since her homeschool work is just about done, I will try to come up with some work for her to do while the friends she stays with do their home school lessons.

We have been keeping Mr.S on our prayers.
I hope NC went well! We hope to join you all next year.
