Where’s the Fire?

So why doesn’t my blog header have anything to do with a soft cozy looking fireplace, or a picture perfect house, or why even, isn’t it plain orange to at least hint at matching the fire concept? To tell you the truth, I don’t have a fireplace, so it seemed like it would be fake, I don’t live in a picture perfect house and don’t believe that really exists, and orange isn’t really my favorite color!

While surfing around for themes, I saw a coffee theme. The one I saw didn’t quite strike me, but the idea did. So, I asked my son to throw this one together for me. Then I thought maybe I should have called my blog “The Daily Grind!” after the title I had given to my general content category name. By then, however, I was attached to my current title and just didn’t want to part with it! (more…)

Joining the Fray!

Well, Fran started a wordpress blog, (http://sgtgizmo.wordpress.com/) so I thought I might as well start one too! Besides, when I send letters to the editor of my local paper, he takes his own sweet time printing them. This way, I can say what I want to say and have it “printed” immediately!

While my husband is an Army National Guard soldier on his way to a mission in Iraq, my writing won’t necessarily be about Fran’s absence, the war, the United States, the protesters, or the heroes. At the same time, however, it will be all about what it is like to be a soldier’s wife in her heroes’ absence. (more…)
